Christmas address of the Executive
Director of BDZ EAD
On the eve of one of the most cherished Christian
holidays, the birth of Jesus Christ, and on the threshold of our country’s
accession into the European Union, I should like to address every employee and
customer of the “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD! To those who work for the
railways, I wish much health and luck in the coming 2007! I should also like to
thank all my colleagues for the diligence which they have invested in their
work! Successes boost our professional self-esteem and fortify our spirit of railwaymen, but we can attain true satisfaction only when
the achievements of the railways become personal achievements of each and
everyone of us!
I believe that with the same dedication, railway dignity
and inexhaustible energy we shall meet the challenges in 2007 and transform
“Bulgarian State Railways” EAD into a European railway company, the main
priority of which is the satisfaction of customer demands. More than a few
steps in this direction have already been taken. This year, on the basis of
state-of-art information technologies, we developed and implemented a modern
ticketing and information system for international journeys. In order to
enhance the quality level of transport services, the company undertook certain
actions for the renovation of its rolling stock fleet. Bulgarian State Railways
EAD will enter 2007 with a new organisational
structure which will ensure better interaction between the separate units
within the railway system and will outline clearly the responsibilities,
performance and achievements in each business activity.
Let me make use of this occasion to thank all our
highly-responsible and dedicated employees! This year your professionalism and
timely actions prevented serious consequences and casualties in the several
cases of railway accidents which occurred. These accidents remind us that in
spite of all our achievements, there still are a number of problems and
challenges, the solution of which will be the focus of our attention next year.
I would like to address all our customers and partners and
extend my thanks to them for their fruitful cooperation and wish them many
professional and personal successes in the coming year. I believe that our
bilateral relations and synergy will be further developed! Let us make the wish
that 2007 brings much joy, luck and well-being to all of us!
Merry Christmas and
a Happy New Year, dear colleagues and customers!
Oleg PETKOV, M. Eng. Sc.
