AZD PRAGUE – leading supplier of signalling equipment for railway transport

 

AZD Prague is a leading Czech supplier and producer of signalling, telecommunication and IT equipment for rail and road transport, including tele-mechanics and other technologies. Key elements of the company’s production are the electronic station interlocking systems, station and track signalling equipment, state-of-the-art dispatch management systems, level-crossing and train-safety systems, automatic train control equipment, station and train signalling systems for underground and industrial railways. These systems are easy to operate and allow optimum maintenance. The products of the company comply with the latest technical trends.

 

Today AZD has nearly 2,000 employees. The company is the main supplier for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where it has forestalled other suppliers and has gained leading positions as a result of its long-standing experience.

 

In the course of its almost fifty-year history, AZD has implemented significant projects abroad as well (in the former German Democratic Republic, Romania, Hungary, and the former Soviet Union). In recent years, the company has spread its activity over new foreign markets such as Serbia, Montenegro, Byelorussia, and the latest market is Bulgaria.

 

The most recently established daughter company is “Balkan-SAST” Ltd., registered in Bulgaria in July 2004. AZD management decided to establish a production centre in Sofia and allocated significant funding to this end. The objective is to transfer into Bulgaria state-of-the-art technologies for transport safety and safety management, in particular railway safety.
